Misiano Skateparks 2012 ™

Planning and Design/Working with the Community

In 2004, Tony Misiano joined the already 3 year old-New Smyrna Beach Skatepark Committee, with hopes of helping his town (NSB) to get a new skatepark built.  3 years later, it was finally a reality.  During that time, Tony decided that he would do all he could do to make sure that the park was 'handled by skaters from the ground up'.  He got his general contractors license and devoted his time to getting this job.  By the time the NSB project bidded, Tony was able to land the job.  Partnering up with his friends at Team Pain, Tony managed the project and guided the crew in all design changes, re-drawing and engineering the plans (over and over), permitting, sitework, drainage, as well as provide hands on labor in all phases (layout, excavation, forms, rebar, concrete placement).

Today, Misiano Skateparks works directly with members of the community, to address specific goals in the design of their skate park projects.  Together ideas are shared and discussed in an open forum, resulting in a better skatepark and a sense of ownership and pride by the community members.
